About Us

The Streather family has lived at Lodge farm for over 70 years.

In the past, the main business enterprises were arable farming and egg production. In 1990, Julia Streather, embarked on a business diversification programme establishing a boarding kennels, which was handed over to her son James and his wife Helen in 2003.

This was then followed by a farm shop and the cattery. The last venture to open was a grooming parlour to pamper our doggies.

As a family business, we pride ourselves on our high levels of customer service and  attention to detail. The day-to-day running of Lodge Farm is jointly handled by James and Helen Streather and their on-site managers Dave and Claire, whose entrepreneurial talents have enabled the business to continue to thrive and grow.  We have a dedicated team of staff who help us with caring for your pets and their daily needs.  We have 2 daughters, Savannah and India who also enjoy playing with our boarded guests in their spare time.

YELLour petsWe have many pets of our own :  2 dogs;  a Labrador, called Princess and a Chihuahua called blossom.  6 hens, 2 wallabies, highland cattle, 3 meerkats and 3 pigs.

Dave, 37 and Claire, 29  joined our team in October 2016.  They ran a boarding kennels in Brixworth for 2 years before we managed to encourage them to bring their expertise to Lodge Farm.  They are onsite 24/7 with us, sharing the workload.  They have 2 of their own dogs and 2 cats.  Claire has experience with training dogs and runs training, both private and weekly classes,  here at Lodge Farm.
